Google Apps?

Any suggestions for the proper syntax to make this fly for a google apps email account?

To use this with Google Apps:

1. In mail, shift-click "Compose Mail" so you get a new message. Copy the URL of the window you get.

2. Paste this into Notepad.

3. Insert the following just after the question mark in the URL:

4. Go to the folder you installed GmailDefaultMaker in (probably C:\Program Files\GmailDefaultMaker\)

3. Edit the file called link.txt

4. Erase all contents

5. Fill in the compose message link with the URL you got in step 3.

For example, mine looks something like this:

Herb, Thank you for your help -- still having an issue.

I get a "Welcome/Sign-up for Gmail" when clicking to mailto:

FYI, I'm running Chrome, not sure if that could be the disconnect.

My Link.txt file:

This does not appear to work with Windows 7 x64. When I click on GmailDefaultMaker.exe it does work with my google apps account. However, clicking on an email address elsewhere opens Outlook, not Google Apps.

I got the Google Apps version working using the url:

Obviously, change the to whatever yours is.

Thanks for the app

That is what I have and it does not work on Windows 7 X64. Outlook continues to be the default email client.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts.

I continue to the same issue, regardless of the variation of the url string.

I am running 64 bit Windows 7 & all paths lead to a "Gmail Signup" window when I click a mailto: link.

Curiously, I am running Chrome & somebody suggested Google's "Send Using Gmail" extension.

That does not seem to impact things either, even though it has explicit support for Apps.

Hi Hahnfeld, in my instance with the same environment and variations of the url Outlook keeps opening when an email address is clicked. So it seems there are two issues specific to Windows 7 x64 that needs a look at. -C

I'll look into these issues.

Thanks for the link information, herbcaudill.

Edit:  I think I've added Google Apps support.

Hi, I tested Google Apps on 64b Win7 system. Result: MailTO error. Probably rong registry setting? BTW Gmail  is OK!
